Ven. Hang Truong introduced WPG

Why World Peace Gathering (WPG)?

This year’s WPG it is also called Infinite Light Dharma Gathering. When we organize the Infinite Light Buddha Conference, we aim at developing our inherent wisdom and to expand the boundless compassion that exists inside each of us. Before we leave this world for the Pure Land realm, let us develop our minds right now in the Infinite Light Buddha Conference.

This practice is based on the philosophy of the Avatamsaka Sutra, because someone can see the essence of Amitabha Buddha in our daily life, so we will develop the goodness of Amitabha in our daily life.

JOIN IN THE PRAYING:

Collective prayer from a large group praying together will provide a synergistic and resonating power of extreme concentration.  This same power of concentration  is the power that the Buddha spoke of when Mahāmaudgalyāyana wanteds to save his the mother from the Hell realm. The Buddha asked for the strength of the whole sangha to unite, exercising their samadhi to liberate her from the darkness of Hell. Today, we also require this force of the samadhi, but how do we find it? I sincerely ask you all to invite the monks and nuns of great practices to participate in our Mandala, so that we can transfer the power and merits to all sentient beings.

Foremost is the force of samadhi, please invite those who are determined to attend. Next is the power of love. What is the power of love? This is the group of folks that care who we invite to join us to build this great resonance of love. We also hope these folks can participate in our Temporary Monk/Nun program during the short-term monastic practice. They will be Temporary Monk/Nun for seven days, from December 9th to December 16th; then participate in the WPG on December 18th and 19th; and finally receive the Releasing from Precept Ceremony on Dec 20th. The Temporary Monks/Nuns cultivate during these twelve days to resonate their love to the Buddhas in all ten directions to harness their infinite strength to heal all victims of the pandemic and heal the ever-increasing natural disasters.

IN CLOSING:

Praying is a tradition in Buddhism, and through prayer, we strengthen faith, promote good karmas, eliminate bad karmas. become open minded and liberated. The purpose of prayings is to enhance the spiritual life and strengthen the faith of oneself and others.

Therefore, it is fortunate for us to know of this great Buddhist deed and we should call on everyone to join us. It will be wonderful if you can join the Temporary Monk/Nun program, or if you choose to join Bodhisattva Supporter program for 12 days. Please call on friends, family, and those who have a great interest to join us in praying together during the two days of the 18th and 19th of December at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Please register and volunteer to serve in the WPG.

Thank you.
